RENEWING YOUR MARRIAGE VOWS
I've had a few people ask me about renewing their vows recently, so I thought I'd answer some of the more frequently asked questions... Why would we renew our vows? To reflect on your relationship to date... to reconnect with your original 'why'... to be conscious about your marriage... to connect with why now (at this point in your lives)... to re-vision your relationship into the future... to do it your way, this time around... because it's a beautiful way to celebrate an a

LAST MINUTE ELOPEMENT
I received an enquiry for a very short notice elopement in April this year. A couple travelling to Scotland from America for their friends’ marriage. They were planning to come to the Isle of Skye to climb the Inaccessible Pinnacle in the Cuillin (being avid climbers) and were wondering if I could hold a ceremony for them whilst they were here. My first step is always to meet with a couple (even before I take a booking) for us to confirm we’re all happy to work together, so

A QUAKER STYLE WEDDING
I had the absolute joy of driving to Applecross to hold a beautiful Quaker style marriage ceremony. With a bigger guest list than any of my other ceremonies to date (usually wee elopements out in the elements) I was a little nervous, but this rainbow right outside my front door was a sign that all was well... that I was held! ALL YOU NEED FOR YOUR CEREMONY ON SKYE
I'm marrying a couple next month who are bringing a horn to use in their ceremony... in a ritual. They had someone making mead for it, but the seal broke and they found themselves meadless! I wondered if I could source them some Scottish mead. I found a producer, but then I wondered if I could source some here on the Isle of Skye. I put a message out on Instagram... no luck. And then I had an idea... mead is made from honey right? I put a post out on a local bee keepers grou

RENEWING OUR WEDDING VOWS
In 2020, as part of my ministry training I wrote a vow renewal ceremony for my husband and I. I crafted it based on our reflections of our relationship and marriage to date... on our hopes and dreams for the future. I crafted it to connect with the land of Skye... where we'd made home... and to echo our original ceremony and the traditions of New Zealand where we married. For the vow renewal we each wrote personal vows to speak to one another... as we hadn't taken that opport

I LOVE YOU PEN
Ooooh... look what I got this week... As some if you will know from my website I can marry couples in Scotland now I'm an ordained Interfaith Minister, but what you might not know (as I didn't until recently) is that its necessary to have a fountain pen to sign the marriage certificate. So... I've been looking for a beautiful pen... and came across some gorgeous wooden ones by Crafty Bassetts. I just love the idea of a pen made of wood... and how grounding it will be to sign
