TWIA UK Wedding Celebrant of the Year
I felt like I'd been transported to an alternate reality. From the wilds of Skye, barefoot in nature, holding intimate elopement ceremonies, to all the glitz & glamour of the #TWIA UK Awards! There were stilt walkers with wings, indoor fireworks, magicians, a red carpet, an illustrator, a casino & the most fabulous array of glittering outfits! It was magical & a LOT! Mostly I just wandered around in awe 😆 photo credits @mattrockprophoto and @colinlaveryphoto As the award

WHERE ON THE ISLE OF SKYE CAN WE GET MARRIED?
Anywhere you want... within reason! Unlike in England and Wales, in Scotland it's not necessary to be married in a registered venue. I've seen ceremonies on boats, in the sea, up mountains, on the beach, on the cliffs... There are a few rules... you can't get married on the move... on a boat for example; and you have to get married where you said on your paperwork, unless the weather's truly terrible and you need to change it (always good to let the registrar know of any back

BEING NATURE
I’m not like nature I AM nature So deeply rooted in the earth A giant oak Hundreds, if not a thousand years old Alive with Wonder & Awe Not imagining or embodying, but becoming … animal, fish & bird Beyond a separate self Transcending species Fire in my eyes I remember The wisdom of plants, elements, tides Moons, stars & cycles Knowledge, ripped from my ancestral line As if from stolen from the earth herself Standing at the edge of the loch Deep stillness of presence A wel

CRAZY DAISIES AND FLOWER CROWNS
I was so glad I accepted Nicola's invitation to visit @meadowsweetcroft yesterday in honour of British Flowers Week. Marvelling at the spikey leaved oaks, Nicola told me how 11 years ago and long before the vision of becoming Skye's first cut flower grower, she'd planted trees for shelter and winter colour in her garden. I've attempted to look up the variety, not remembering if she said European oaks... and not realising there are no less than 450 varieties of oak! Wandering

A PILGRIMAGE
...to the well... in memory of a wonderful woman. Sonja Eckl, known to many as Ganga. She inspired me to do Ministry Training. She connected me with lots of amazing people, bringing together therapists and others in the Health Oasis. She trusted me with her weddings and other ceremonies when she wasn't well enough to do them... She was so loved by so many and blessed so many couples with ceremonies over the years. She's left a deep hole in the community. As there won't be a

RETURN TO YOUR HEART, DEAR ONE
Had a particularly low day last Thursday which carried on into Friday. I spent time resting, with myself, meditating and I wrote this poem which helped shift through it... A 'free' day. Of late, so rare Anticipated with longing And yet, now here, I find The ache of longing still present With time, I've fallen into a hole Missing, void, partial, unwhole Longing, alongside Sadness, grief and despair, hard to bear Stopping to re-collect my week's feelings I find connection, joy
